The data for this language are scarce. Breen unpacks the historical confusion around two 'Lower Burdekin' wordlists in Curr (1886, Vol 2: 488-491), interpreted by Terrill as one language 'Bindal' (E61) (1998:86); Breen concludes there are two different languages in these wordlists, both referred to as Bindal, and that neither language is a Mari dialect (2009:245).
