According to Top End Handbook, Emmi N15, Maranunggu N1 and Menthe N6 are in a dialectal relationship, and the language comprising Emmi, Menthe and Marranj Warrgat N13 is called Marranj by linguists.

Location information: 
The general association was to the drainage of Docherty Creek and the Dashwood Plains. In the northeast, the headwater s of some drainages flowing into the Daly were also associated with Marranj. On the coast, affiliations extended from Red Cliff to half way between Cape Scott and the mouth of X (Harvey ASEDA 802). (Harvey is not sure what the river X is.)
