Mabuyag (Y239) is a dialect of the Western Torres Strait language Kala Lagaw Ya Y1 (Torres News 6-12 March 2017). Other dialects are: Kala Lagaw Ya Y1, Kalaw Kawaw Ya Y2, Kulkalgaw Ya Y4, and Kawalgaw Ya Y5. This language is also known as Yagar Yagar (Ober p.c. 2007).
