Oates says that Ku:tyanyu (Y33) is a dialect of Gandju Y44 and distinguishes 'the central coastal area group of dialects from Umpila Y45 to the south and Uwtalngan Y222at the mission site' (1975:282). West recorded film of sign language (1964); Thompson says that Kuutjaanyu (Y33) is the word for 'look' in Kuuku-Ya?u Y22 (1976:232).
