Oates and Oates (1970:221) list Balamumu (N149.1) as a Wulamba (a name given to the cultural area of N.E. Arnhem Land, called Murngin by Warner) dialect listed by Capell (1963) and recorded by Schebeck, but in her later work Oates (1975:387) deletes Balamumu (N149.1) saying it is not a language name.
Schebeck (2001:88) suspects that Balamumu (N149.1) is a 'warname' usually applied to Djapu N145.
As this appears to be a people name and not a language name, it is not included as a language heading in the Thesaurus.
