The Mobile Language Team describes Ramindjeri as a dialect of Ngarrindjeri S69, possibly based on McDonald (2002:14) who indicates that Taplin's (1873) grammar appears to have drawn heavily on Meyer's (1843) grammar on Ramindjeri. Tindale (1941:242) describes Ramindjeri as so close to Yaraldi S8 that its distinct status is questionable; McDonald (2002:3) reports that a Ngarrindjeri speaker considered it to be part of Tangani S11.
