Comment
Comments:
The name Wathurung is extremely similar to the various forms of the name associated with S29 (e.g. Wadhurung, Wada:wurung, Wathaurung). Two sources make a distinction between Wathurung and 'Wudjawuru', O'Grady, Vogelin and Voegelin (1966) and Wurm (1972). All other sources include Wathurung within the group of variations of the form Wathawurung S29. Given that neither source presents any contrastive data, it seems likely that Wathurung is in fact a variant of Wathawurung S29. Consequently, Wathurung is listed as unconfirmed.
