Tindale lists Witja:ri A94 as an alternative name of Whadjuk (W9). However, the comparison of his Witja:ri word list to available Whadjuk word lists indicates that they are data from different languages. Tindale also lists the name 'Ilakuri wongi' as an alternative name for his 'Whadjuk' and, consequently, it is not clear whether it should be considered a variant of Wajuk or Witjaari A94.
The Noongar Boodjar Waangkiny Language Centre assigns the Whadjuk (W9) clan to the 'Djiraly: Northern' dialect, noting the approximate nature of 'how the original 14 recognised Noongar Clans have been drawn into 3 main dialects'.
In this database Wajuk is tentatively treated as a dialect of Noongar / Nyungar W41 on the basis of past classifications. See Noongar / Nyungar W41 for a discussion about the relationship between Noongar / Nyungar people names and language/dialect names.
